Hi Bobbi:

I remember your music quite well during the 70s when I was drumming with Donny Hathaway, Bill Withers, Ashford & Simpson, Phyliss Hyman, Diana Ross, Eumir Deodato, etc.

I definitely support your legal bouts for past royalties due, as I started a record label in 1982 with Candi Staton for Gospel music releases. You keep the faith and put feet to it. Congratulations on your successess.

All The Best,

Hello! I pray you are doing well. Like so many others I too met you and so enjoyed your company! I'm sure you dont remember me, however my family met you at your home in Mesquite Texas years ago. I want to say in 1997 or so. Anyway, your hair dresser got a knot out of my little sister's thick hair! Well, I was listening to your songs and thought I'd say hello to you any way that I could. Hope you read the posts personally and hope your doing well! Happy Holidays to you and yours!

As recently commented on your Facebook page Bobbi, you are and always have been my favourite female jazz artist since 1978 listening to the Freestyle LP and totaaly agree with the First Lady of the Flute title. They have been others - new flautists like Althea Rene, who are great musicians but still have a ways to go to match the smoothness of your jazz styling or reach the heights of your career. Bobbi, you were playing smooth jazz BEFORE there was Smooth Jazz! I missed you at Ronnie scotts in London last year 2010, but really hope that you will return to London again in the near future. Love Brian

Much respect to the High Priestess of the Flute! I so wanted to play like you when I purchased Blacks and Blues and walked around with my flute barefoot as a teen. Rediscovering sweet memories of the times we lived in as the music emerged and spoke every word I wanted to say. I love you Bobbi Humphrey and all you have blessed us with. Ashe ~ Peace to you always..

Hey Bobbi,
Yeah, I've been digging your sound since "Blacks & Blues" came out ( the album I mean). I also have "Satin Doll" with your daughter's beautiful face on the cover. My favorite on this one is San Francisco Lights. Glad you're still around making beautiful music. I'm a jazz drummer myself but not well known anywhere but around here which is cool though. Keep on making music Bobbi. The world sure needs the love that comes with it. Peace , Anthony

Ricardo (RickShade) Reed (Stevie Wonder's: Oh Baby Baby)

July 1, 2011

Hello Ms. Humphrey, it's me Ricardo Reed the guy who sang for you at metro-tech yesterday, I really enjoyed hearing and seeing you move all of us yesterday at Metro-Tech in my home town of Brooklyn. It was unbelievably amazing and very refreshing to hear the colors of your heart as you performed for us...thank you. After the show when you allowed me to sing part of my interpretation of Stevie Wonder's "Oh Baby Baby" it felt nice to finally let someone who understands the colors of sound hear what I've done with his song. When you said that he was suppose to be there...I wish he had been able to make it to your show and be with you when I sang that small part of it to you, I would have like to hear his comments as well as I did in hearing yours. You've both inspired my musical ear along with the colors of sound I paint with as I do what I do. Since the age of 4 I've been writing, singing and in shortly before HS stated play and would look forward to meeting with you so you can hear the entire composition of that song (Oh Baby Baby) that I hear. I hope you will allow me to sing it for you it in it's entirety when your time allows. I am always ready to sing and had a lot of down home fun today living in the atmosphere you created for us, thank you again and may Our Father continue to bless you in every passage way your heart sees for you to travel toward in the bright and near future.

Sincerely
Ricardo Reed
